Power outages and emergencies such as downed powerlines can be  reported to Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative at 785-534-1601 or toll free 800-530-5572, 24 hours a day. 

If you experience any type of interruption in power — power outage, blinking lights, dimming lights — please report these as soon as possible.

Do you ever wonder whether it’s necessary to report your power outage? Yes! When your residence is out of power, we need to know; you may be the only one experiencing the outage. There can be any number of reasons you may lose power at your home, including animal intrusion, equipment failure, severe storms, or transmission issues from our power supplier. No matter what the cause, it is imperative that you report your outage to us as soon as you are aware of it!

What To Do If The Electricity Goes Off

Check the fuses or circuit breaker. If the fuses are operational and the circuit breaker is switched on, call Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative and report the outage. 

When reporting an outage, please report:

  • Your name and phone number
  • Location of the service and account number and meter number, if available
  • Any additional information pertaining to the outage to help Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative personnel locate the problem so power may be restored quickly

Life-Sustaining Medical Equipment

If you or any member of your family use essential life-sustaining medical equipment prescribed by a physician, please let us know. Please make Rolling Hills Electric Cooperative personnel aware of this so we can contact you to let you know about scheduled power interruptions for maintenance purposes.

Please be sure to acquire a back-up power supply (batteries, generator) for any medical equipment that requires a constant power supply.
